This after the DOH 7 disclosed that the region logged 98 new Covid-19 cases from Jan. 1 to 7, 2023 with four deaths reported.
In a statement, DOH 7 officials continued to urge the public to keep wearing their masks as a precautionary measure against Covid-19, especially if they are attending activities involving large crowds such as the ongoing novena masses at the Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño or those relating to the One Cebu Island Sinulog Grand Parade at the South Road Properties on Jan. 15.
Health officials urged the public to immediately evaluate themselves for possible Covid-19 symptoms after attending crowded activities and do self-isolation if they feel symptoms such as fever, cough, sudden tiredness, body pains, loss of smell, headache, and throat ache, among others.
They also encouraged those vaccinated to get their booster shots and those unvaccinated to have their Covid-19 vaccine shots to ensure they have added protection while attending social gatherings.
