Rebisco falls to Altay Volleyball Club in AVC Volleyball Championship

THE Altay Volleyball Club of Kazakhstan took down Rebisco in straight sets, 25-23, 25-13, 25-17, in the Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship on Friday night at the Terminal 21 in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.

The veteran squad of Altay, led by Kristina Belova, Nadiia Kodola and Sana Anarkulova, stood tall over the young Rebisco squad that was missing several veterans in Aby Marano, Dindin Santiago-Manabat, Eya Laure and Ivy Lacsina, all of whom were yet to be given clearance to play by the local health office.

Still, Rebisco refused to go down without a fight as it rallied behind the fine play of Mhicaela Belen and Faith Nisperos.

Kamille Cal also showed flashes of brilliance while Kianna Dy and Jema Galanza also had their moments against the taller Kazakhs.

Rebisco will try to bounce back when it faces off against Supreme Chonburi of Thailand in their next game. (JNP)
