Red Cross gives kitchenware to 141 families in Sibonga

THE Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Cebu Chapter distributed kitchenware to 141 families in Barangay Poblacion, Sibonga on Saturday, March 12, 2022.On Sunday, March 13, the PRC Cebu Chapter’s food truck went to the town of Dumanjug and served hot meals to 535 individuals.The PRC Cebu Chapter has so far served hot meals to 21,215 individuals.Relief effortsThe Philippine Red Cross and its chapters nationwide, including the one in Cebu, have continued conducting relief efforts and the serving of hot meals three months after the onslaught of Typhoon Odette (Rai).Typhoon Odette struck Cebu on Thursday evening, Dec. 16, 2021.PRC chairman Sen. Richard Gordon praised the employees and volunteers for their sacrifices.“Ang ating mga masisipag na volunteers at empleyado ay patuloy na nagtatrabaho maging sa araw ng Sabado at Linggo. Ang pangangailangan at ating pagnanais na makatawid at makabangon ang apektadong komunidad ang pangunahing layunin natin,” Gordon said in a press statement.(Our hardworking volunteers and employees continue to work even on weekends.
