The 25-year-old Mama’s ring woes continue after losing his second straight fight in a span of two years. He’s now 12-2-1 with seven knockouts.
On the other hand, BJ Wild and Carlo Demecillo settled for a split draw in the show’s co-headliner.
Judge Noel Flores scored it 98-92 in favor of Demecillo, while judge Neil Papas saw the fight differently and scored it 97-93 for Wild. Judge Edward Ligas scored it a 95-95 draw.
Wild remained unbeaten with a 9-0-1 slate with six knockouts, while Demecillo is 15-6-2 with eight knockouts.
In the undercard, Rodel Wenceslao (18-19-2, 8 KOs) stopped 72-fight veteran Edison Berwela (18-46-8, 6 KOs) in the second round. April Jay Abne (11-1, 5 KOs) outclassed Ramel Antaran (5-19-2) by a lopsided unanimous decision. Rhonvex Capuloy (9-2, 6 KOs) handed Brix Piala (5-1, 2 KOs) his first career loss with fifth round stoppage.
Ramil Macado (4-0, 2 KOs) beat experienced Renoel Pael (23-13-1, 12 KOs) by unanimous decision. Yeroge Gura (5-0, 2 KOs) defeated Anthony Gilbuela (5-2-1, 1 KO) by unanimous decision. Former amateur standout John Vincent Pangga (7-0, 4 KOs) won his biggest fight after beating former world title challenger Vergilio Silvano (21-10-1, 12 KOs), and Ian Abne (7-0-1, 4 KOs) defeated Charlie Malupangue (9-6-4, 6 KOs) in a rematch.
