San Miguel routs TNT, forces Game 7 in PBA Philippine Cup finals

The San Miguel Beermen routed the TNT Tropang Giga, 114-96, in Game Six on Friday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum to tie the PBA Philippine Cup finals up and send the series to a winner-take-all Game Seven on Sunday.The Beermen got off to a hot start, led by 16 after the first, 40-26, and never looked back to tie the series up at 3-3. Marcio Lassiter and Simon Enciso lit it up from the outside and combined to make 12 three-pointers. Lassiter finished with 22 points while Enciso picked the right time to find his shooting stroke and contribute a conference-high 20 markers.Enciso and Lassiter already had nine triples between them in a fiery first-half shooting display that saw the Beermen go in front by as much as 26 before settling for a 63-50 halftime lead.TNT pulled to within nine, 62-71, but San Miguel answered with a run of their own to restore order and pave the way for their Game Six win.CJ Perez added 20 points while June Mar Fajardo had a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds to go with five assists.TNT missed the services of veteran point guard Jayson Castro who sat the game out due to a sprained ankle.Cebuano wingman Roger Pogoy scored 31 points but it was far from being enough as the Beermen’s defense limited star guard Mikey Williams to just two points.
