Schrock leaves UCFC

STAR midfielder and skipper Stephan Schrock bid farewell to his longtime club, United City FC (UCFC), after both sides mutually parted ways.“UCFC would like to announce the departure of Captain Stephan Schrock after mutually agreeing on an early termination of his contract,” wrote UCFC on its official Facebook page.The 35-year-old Schrock has been with UCFC since its days as Ceres Negros FC and played for the club since 2016.“Stephan has been instrumental in UCFC’s winning of the 2020 Philippines Football League and the recording of a first-ever win of any Philippines football club on the AFC Champions League group stage level,” wrote UCFC.Schrock led UCFC to four Philippines Football League (PFL) titles in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. He also helped the club win the Copa Paulino Alcantara in 2019. He won two Golden Ball awards in the PFL in 2019 and 2020. He also played in the historic appearance of UCFC in the AFC Champions League in 2021.“UCFC will now take this opportunity to build the Club’s winning football philosophy, with identifying and developing local talents at its heart,” wrote UCFC.“Once again, the Club would like to thank Stephan for his contributions to UCFC and wish him all the best on his next career move.”UCFC is currently competing in the 2022 Copa Paulino Alcantara. The club is also playing in the group stage of the upcoming 2022 AFC Champions League.
