Al-zair, a native of Sibonga town, southern Cebu, bested 11 other beauties hailing from the different parts of Cebu.
Aside from winning the crown, Al-zair also won Best in Evening Gown and Hinablon Dress; Miss Oro Galleria and Miss Pagcor Charity.
Joining Al-zair’s court are Patricia Gail Deuñas (first runner-up), Corinthia Marie Empe (second runner-up), Chynna Julienne Dorado (third runner-up), and Niña Danielle Illustrisimo (fourth runner-up).
One of the highlights of Al-zair’s performance was when she stunned everyone in her dripping purple and bedazzled evening gown matched with a feathered sleeve created by local designer Wendell Quisido.
When asked what the single most important tourism asset of Cebu City is and how it could be used to promote the city, Al-zair emphasized the Cebuano people as they help keep the tourism industry afloat.
Al-zair bagged P100,000 cash from the Cebu City Tourism Commission, P50,000 worth of jewelry from Oro Galleria and P50,000 worth of skin services from Skin 911, among many others.
The Miss Cebu 2023 Coronation Night was hosted by Miss Earth 2008 Karla Paula Henry-Amman and award-winning actor-producer Nico Locco.
The pageant is the oldest-running beauty pageant in the island. After a six-year hiatus, the pageant returned this year following the success of Miss Cebu Quincentennial in 2022.
