Siesmundo faces Carcedo July 23 for WBF strap in Bohol

UP-AND-COMERS Antonio Siesmundo and Jhunrick Carcedo clash for the vacant World Boxing Foundation (WBF) Asia Pacific super lightweight strap in the main event of PMI Boxing’s “Kumong Bol-anon VI” on July 23, 2022 at the Brgy. Cogon Gym in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.Siesmundo tipped the scales at 138 pounds, while Carcedo weighed-in a pound heavier at 139.The 27-year-old Siesmundo is riding a two-fight streak with wins over Ryan Maano and John Lawrence Ordonio.Siesmundo totally outclassed Ordonio via a one-sided unanimous decision on April 23.Carcedo, in the meantime, won his last four fights, in which three were against former regional champions Ryan Sermona, Jose Ocampo and Romeo Jackosalem.Carcedo is coming off a second round technical knockout of Sermona, who has fought the likes of Masayoshi Nakatani and Masayuki Eto, last Feb 26.Siesmundo is 8-3 with seven knockouts, while the 23-year-old Carcedo is 7-1 with seven knockouts.International Boxing Federation (IBF) No. 7 rated light flyweight Regie Suganob trades leathers with Indonesian Asyer Aluman in the 10-round co-main event.Suganob has shown a lot of promise and is the current IBF Youth light flyweight champion. He’s coming off a unanimous decision over Ricardo Sueno on March 7.Aluman is also fresh from a victory with a unanimous decision win over Sulis Barrera on May 21.Suganob is 10-0 with three knockouts, while Aluman is 3-2-1 with two knockouts.
