Some celebrities you didn’t know that were ‘Nepo Babies’

“Nepotism babies” are getting a lot of flak on the internet. New York Magazine published its December 2022 to January 2023 issue, tackling the “nepo baby” boom in Hollywood with the title, “She has her mother’s eyes. And Agent.”

Through time, it is no surprise that the entertainment industry is growing its list of celebrity children. Some have been in the industry for quite some time, and you just didn’t know. Here are some of them:

Jennifer Aniston

The “Friends” actress had quite the head start when she starred in one of the most popular sitcoms. She is the daughter of John Aniston, a well-established American actor who has starred in “Days of Our Lives.” Since “Friends,” Jennifer has since then starred in films such as “Bruce Almighty,” “Marley & Me” and “We’re the Millers,” to name a few.

Lily Collins

If you grew up watching “The Blind Side,” “Love, Rosie” and “Mirror Mirror,” chances are you’re familiar with Lily Collins. The “Emily in Paris” star has been in a plethora of films all her life, starting with Disney’s “Tarzan” when she was just 10 years old. Her father, Phil, is a multiple Grammy award winner and Academy Award winner.

Liv Tyler

Playing ”Arwen” in “The Lord of the Rings,” Liv Tyler is the daughter of Aerosmith vocalist Steven Tyler. Liv didn’t know that the rockstar was her father until she was 11. After confirming that she was indeed Steven’s biological daughter, the two began a foster father-daughter relationship while collaborating on projects. Liv starred in one of her father’s music videos, and Aerosmith contributed “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” to her film, “Armageddon.”

Many “nepo babies” in Hollywood have worked hard to establish themselves in the industry, while some have failed to do so. Ultimately, it is up to their fans to decide whether they are worthy of support.
