Striegl faces Cogliandro in Abu Dhabi

AFTER a short stint in the UFC, Filipino-American warrior Mark Striegl makes his cage comeback, this time, in a different organization.

Striegl will take his talent to the desert to face Italian Walter Cogliandro in UAE Warriors 39 on March 18, 2023 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The 34-year-old Striegl fought his last two fights in the UFC. He lost both contests against Said Numagomedov and Chas Kelly and was released by the UFC.

Before his two losses, Striegl had a five-fight winning streak in the ONE Championship and the URCC.

Like Striegl, Cogliandro also dropped his last two fights. He lost to Jae Hyuk Bang by unanimous decision in Brave CF and also got defeated by Yves Landu by unanimous decision in Bellator FC.

Striegl is 18-4 and has 14 wins by submission, while Cogliandro is 11-4-1 with five wins by stoppage.

Also seeing action in the same event are Joevincent So and Coline Biron.

So (9-3) is taking on Brazilian veteran Isaac Pimentel (17-10).

So looks to keep his unbeaten run and is looking for his sixth straight win.

Pimentel, in the meantime, is coming off a long layoff. He last fought in 2020 and lost to Thai warrior Topnoi Kiwram.

Biron (1-1) locks horns with Argentinean Maria Eugenia Zbrun (1-0) in a female strawweight fight. / EKA
