Suarez beats Estrada in Tarlac

FORMER Olympian Charly Suarez continues his unbeaten streak in the pro ranks after one-sided unanimous decision over Jon Jon Estrada on Feb. 13 at the Mega Mart in Paniqui, Tarlac.

Suarez outclassed Estrada with scores of 100-90, 100-90 and 100-91.

Suarez, who represented the Philippines in the 2016 Olympics, improved to 5-0 with four knockouts, while Estrada dropped to 11-8-1 with 10 knockouts.

Meanwhile, Bienvenido Ligas (13-1-1, 9 KOs) won the Philippines flyweight belt with a unanimous decision over Alphoe Dagayloan (14-4-6, 5 KOs) in the show’s co-headliner.

All three judges scored it 115-113 for Ligas.

In the undercard, Prince Andrew Laurio (11-3-1, 8 KOs) stopped Ranielo Quizo (7-1, 1 KO) in the fifth round, Lorenz Ladrada (8-1-1, 2 KOs) beat Remon Basas (5-5, 4 KOs) and Ali Canega (2-0-1, 2 KOs) settled to a majority draw with Glenn Bismanos (6-1-4, 4 KOs). (EKA)
