Suarez soars with new win vs. Mancito

Former Olympian Charly Suarez continued his unbeaten run in the pro ranks after another win over the weekend.

The 32-year-old Suarez defeated Edwardo Mancito by convincing unanimous decision on July 3, 2021 at the Urdaneta Sports Complex in Urdaneta City.

Suarez had a masterful performance with scores of 100-89, 99-90 and 98-92.

Suarez, who competed in the 2016 Olympics, is now 7-0 with five knockouts, while Mancito dropped to 18-12-2 with nine knockouts.

Bienvenido Ligas (13-1-2, 9 KOs) settled to a majority draw with Miel Fajardo (7-1-2, 6 KOs) in the main supporting bout.

In the undercard, Lorenz Ladrada (11-1, 3 KOs) won by unanimous decision over Claudevan Sese (7-3-3, 1 KO), Jino Rodrigo (6-2-2, 4 KOs) outlasted veteran Roberto Gonzales (28-7-1, 17 KOs) by unanimous decision, Arnel Baconaje (13-4-1, 11 KOs) stopped Ivor Lastrilla (12-11-1, 7 KOs) in the second round, and Cris Ganoza (19-3, 9 KOs) walked away with a unanimous decision win over Junuel Lacar (8-8-3, 6 KOs).

In other undercard results, Ranelio Quizo (8-2, 1 KO) defeated Joseph Bayubay (4-2-2, 2 KOs) by unanimous decision, Landy Cris Leon (14-22-5, 6 KOs) scored a huge upset over World Boxing Council (WBC) No. 14 ranked super bantamweight Jhunriel Ramonal (17-9-6, 10 KOs) via a technical decision, Jon Jon Estrada (12-8-1, 11 KOs) demolished Rex Wao (11-5, 9 KOs) in the first round, and Jonniel Laurente (1-0, 1 KO) knocked out Jeric Wayne Canawil (0-1) in the third round.
