THIS year’s Pasigarbo sa Sugbo has set records of its own after a two-year hiatus brought by the Covid-19 pandemic, Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia said in a speech she made on Monday, Aug. 29, 2022.With 50 participating municipalities and cities in the Province and two guest contingents that joined the “Festival of Festivals” on Sunday, Aug. 28, Garcia said Cebu had made its mark as the only province in the entire country to have organized such a festival of that scale.During the Pasigarbo awarding ceremony at the Cebu City Sports Center Monday, Garcia described the elaborate performances conducted by the participating contingents as “world class.”First Lady Marie Louise “Liza” Araneta Marcos, who had flown in from Manila to Cebu to fulfill her promise to attend the Pasigarbo, also praised the performers and event organizers.“Without a doubt, Cebu festivals showcased one of the best or the best of Philippine culture,” Marcos said.
