FOUR months after the ambush-slay of former Barangay Calamba councilor and fraternity leader Richard Buscaino, the Cebu City Police Office has declared the case as solved.This after the identification of the suspect behind the councilor’s murder and the subsequent filing of murder charges against him.The CCPO, however, did not divulge the name of the suspect, the gunman, as he is still at large.Police Lt. Col. Maria Theresa Macatangay, CCPO spokesperson, said they want to arrest the suspect so that they can find out who masterminded the murder against Buscaino.The murder complaint will undergo preliminary investigation at the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office. If the suspect will not respond to the prosecutor’s subpoenas for a period of time, the complaint could be elevated to the court for trial and a warrant of arrest will be issued against the suspect.Buscaino was driving his vehicle when he was shot to death by two men riding on a motorcycle along Tres de Abril St. in Barangay Calamba, Cebu City on Oct. 8, 2021.As for the shooting incident involving broadcaster Rico Osmeña, the CCPO formed a special investigation task group (SITG) Osmeña. The SITG Osmeña requested Osmeña, who survived the gun attack while aboard a modernized jeepney in Cebu City last Dec. 16, 2021, to coordinate with them to solve the case.The shooting incident happened after Osmeña hosted a talk show at radio dyLA.
