Talisay LGU to start administering vaccine vs. Covid-19 to minors aged 12-17 on Nov. 3

THE Talisay City Government in southern Cebu will start vaccinating 2,697 minors aged 12 to 17 against Covid-19 on Wednesday, November 3, 2021.

Talisay City Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas Jr. announced on his Facebook page that starting Wednesday, their vaccination of the children will be held at the city’s three vaccination centers, and at mobile and purok vaccination clinics.

Gullas, however, said they will first vaccinate minors who have no comorbidities, or those without any congenital or underlying illnesses.

The mayor said the minors who will get vaccinated on Wednesday must be accompanied by their parents or guardians and they must provide proof of identification.

“Malipay gyud ko’g dako niini (I will be very happy about this). This would mean more of our constituents will be protected against Covid-19 and will bring us closer to herd immunity,” Gullas said.

As to minors with comorbidities, Gullas said he is still discussing the matter with city health officials on how they plan to conduct the vaccinations for them.

Talisay City’s three major vaccination centers are located in the multipurpose gym of Barangay Lagtang and in two malls, namely Gaisano Capital SRP in Barangay San Roque and Starmall in Barangay Linao. (JKV, PR)
