Tribute bands

Cambridge Dictionary defines a “tribute band” as “a group of musicians who play the music of a famous pop group and pretend to be that group.” Tribute bands may co-exist with the original bands provided that they do not violate the latter’s copyrights and trademarks.Among the interesting names of tribute bands are: “Legal Jam” (Pearl Jam); “Bjorn Again” (ABBA); “NoWaySis” (Oasis); “The Cured” (The Cure); “Fleetwood Mask” (Fleetwood Mac); “Blonde Jovi” (an all-female Bon Jovi act); “Elton Rohn” (Elton John); “GayC/DC” (AC/DC); “Brit Floyd” (Pink Floyd); “Almost KISS” (KISS); “Vag Halen” (Van Halen); “Red Hot Chili Pipers” (Red Hot Chili Peppers); “Beatallica” (plays Beatles songs to the style of Metallica); “Gabba” (plays Abba songs to the style of The Ramones); and “Lez Zeppelin” (Led Zeppelin).
