A CONSTRUCTION worker was shot dead while he was sleeping in Sitio Danao, Barangay Napo in the southern city of Carcar, Cebu.The victim was identified as 34-year-old Ambrocio Makig-angay Baran, also known as Onyoy.Baran, who was fast asleep on the bamboo bed in his sibling’s hut, sustained several bullets wounds in different parts of the body and head.The incident reportedly happened around midnight Sunday, August 28, 2022.Police have yet to identify the gunman who covered his face with a white shirt.According to Lieutenant Colonel Ardioleto Cabagnot, chief of the Carcar Police Station, a 13-year-old who was playing with a cellphone witnessed the shooting.The witness said the gunman approached the victim and suddenly shot him several times before fleeing the scene.Cabagnot said they are still trying to determine the motive for the killing.Baran was rushed to a hospital in Carcar City where he was declared dead on arrival.Cabagnot said they are not discounting the possibility that the victim had enemies.
