Unvaxxed City Hall employess not allowed in my office-Rama

CEBU City Acting Mayor Michael Rama has issued a directive prohibiting City Hall employees who have not gotten their Covid-19 vaccinations from entering his office.

But he also announced that only 10 percent of the more than 5,000 City Hall workers have remained unvaccinated against the coronavirus as of now.

Rama said he wants the City Government to serve as a role model to the public by having 100 percent of the City Hall workers vaccinated.

Rama announced on Monday, Nov. 8, that Cebu City Hall employees will receive a P20,000 Christmas bonus this year but only if all of them have gotten their Covid-19 vaccine.

“Ang pinaka-importante karon (What’s most important now is) they will take my words seriously because when I say, I meant to really have them all vaccinated; but if ever there will be reason that I have to be convinced, then let’s cross the bridge when we reach there,” said Rama.

Councilor Raymond Garcia, committee on budget and finance chairman, said funds for the bonuses will be taken from proposed Supplemental Budget No. 2 which Rama is set to submit to the City Council next week.
