If you answered yes to both, then it must’ve been an experience at Shangri-La’s Mactan Island Resort and Spa. Shangri-La, an iconic flagship brand of the Shangri-La Group, involves heartfelt service at the core of its exemplary Asian hospitality. This is achieved through creative and nature-inspired design and innovative culinary and cultural experiences. This spells your own Shangri-La moment!
Since 1993, Shangri-La has been both enticing and exciting to locals and tourists, so a 30th super anniversary celebration was at hand. To mark such a milestone, the five-star resort released a product as a tribute to Cebuanos and the island’s specialty: Sweet juicy mangoes!
The resort wishes guests to immerse themselves in the unique, tropical scent and taste of these local delights, so limited edition chocolate-coated dried mangoes are there for the taking! This product is in partnership with R&M Preserves, one of the country’s largest dried mango manufacturers.
There’s a story behind these delights. Popular Cebuano artist Bree Esplanada created the novel packaging, wherein he captured the vibrant character of Cebu through hand-drawn images of its tourist attractions.
Proceeds from the sales of these delicacies will be donated to the Gilutungan Integrated School in Gilutungan Island, Cordova, for its completion. This laudable project is in partnership with the Department of Education, University of San Carlos, Municipality of Cordova and the Philippine Navy.
The school is a 45-minute boat ride from the resort, and is home to nearly 500 elementary and high school students. Due to its location, problems like limited learning facilities, electrical and water supply, etc. are present.
For the many generous souls who wish to help, prices for these delicacies start at P780 net per box, and the varieties are available at the Resort Lobby. For more information on Shangri-La Mactan and this project, one may call (032) 231-0288 or follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
Be part of this special move and the resort is more than grateful for this anniversary milestone to you dear guests-turned-family!
Another gesture of appreciation was marked at NuStar Resort and Casino when they honored the media at a cocktail-cum-dinner at their posh function room. Glamorous attendance was at an optimum level, as waiters filed to and fro with sumptuous canapes and fabulous drinks!
As the colorful stage lights dimmed, entertainment began.
Latest and familiar dance and song numbers filled the festive air, as program hosts gamely did their thing onstage!
Beaming approvingly were resort VIPs Alan Teo, chief executive officer of NUSTAR; and Paolo Campillo, general manager of the hotel.
Even as the event was more than enough, NUSTAR giveaways were distributed to make for a perfect evening!
