Utzurrum: Swiss coffee brand invades Cebu

It took coffee genius Patrick Pesengco, managing director of Novateur Coffee Concepts Inc., to finally bring to our coffee-drinking country, the Swiss-global coffee culture boutique, Nespresso. It has become the worldwide reference in premium portioned coffee as it elevates the drinking experience to new taste heights. Now, anyone can craft their own cup of espresso, with a single touch of a button! Coffee-crazy Cebuanos are now ready for the luxury of top-notch coffee brands.

“We are delighted to open our first boutique outside Manila to better serve our club members in the south. This newly opened boutique will afford our customers the complete sensorial experience of discovering new coffee flavors with each capsule, shopping for their favorite blend, and introducing family and friends to the Nespresso lifestyle,” said Pesengco.

The compact and streamlined branch, located at Level One, Ayala Center Cebu, had the following prestigious out-of-towners to welcome our local guests: Pesengco, Nespresso Southeast Asia regional business development manager Fabio de Gregorio and commercial and marketing head Millet Valdez.

Superb entertainment was rendered by the Cebu Philharmonic Orchestra, JRG Visayas Chorale and for local color ambiance, the Lumad Basakanon, an award-winning Sinulog contingent.

Amid this festive celebration, the ribbon-cutting took place with the Nespresso VIPs, joined by His Excellency Ambassador of Switzerland to the Philippines Alain Gaschen, Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama, City First Lady Malou Rama, AyalaLand Malls vice president and head of leasing Mark Anthony Sablan, Ayala Center Cebu general manager Jia Sadol and senior economic and trade officer commercial attache Kent Marjun Primor.

It was now the turn of the emcee, Karla Henry-Amman, to take the coffee enthusiasts on a trip down memory lane, as Nespresso showcased its various advocacies and initiatives. Still not known to many are the company’s massive sustainability efforts to support local farmers and reduce industrial waste. Headquartered in Vevey, Switzerland, Nestle Nespresso SA is the pioneer and reference for the highest-quality portioned coffee, working with more than 120,000 farmers in 15 countries through its AAA Sustainable Quality Program.

The program assists in improving the yield and quality of harvests, ensuring a sustainable supply of high-grade coffees and improving livelihoods of farmers and their communities.

Let’s congratulate Nespresso, operating in 81 countries, with over 13,000 employees and as of 2022, enjoying the outstanding patronage of 802 boutiques worldwide!
