Vitor KOs Yupang, wins WBO Oriental belt

VIRGEL Vitor’s dream of becoming a champion, even if it’s just a regional championship for now, turned into a reality after an impressive third-round demolition of Arnon Yupang on Friday, Sept. 9, 2022, in the main event of “Kumong Bol-anon 7” in Dimiao, Bohol.Vitor dropped Yupang to the canvass in the third round with a solid left to the head.Yupang attempted to stand up and beat referee Danrex Tapdasan’s 10-count but he fell back to the ropes and was counted out in the 2:17 mark.“I had confidence in myself and was a little bit more aggressive. When I saw that he was hurt with my punches, I grabbed the opportunity,” said the 25-year-old Vitor.Vitor won the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental super featherweight belt and will most likely break into the world rankings following the impressive win.“I’m so happy because this my first time winning a belt. It’s always my dream to become a WBO champion.
