Young stars Lagman, Ilacad happy Kapamilya talents

TV SERIES “Init sa Magdamag” is a drama broadcast by Kapamilya Channel starring Gerald Anderson, Yam Concepcion and JM de Guzman. The story revolves around Tupe (Anderson), Rita (Concepcion) and Peterson (Guzman) — and their intricate love triangle set against the backdrop of Philippine politics.

In a recent virtual press conference, young stars Gab Lagman and Alexa Ilacad share their thoughts on the show and life in general. In the series, Gab plays Kiko, while Alexa plays Hannah. Both characters serve their own light-hearted moments on screen.

In the press conference, both acknowledged each other’s good traits. Aside from the endearing physical qualities, Alexa sees Gab as kind and hardworking, while Gab sees Alexa as someone family-oriented and open.

In addition, both shared that they have the same appetite for tapsilog, mango shake and pancit canton, not to mention being cat lovers themselves.

When asked on the possibilities of doing more daring roles in the future, Gab said he was open to it when he feels like it’s time. For Alexa, she feels like she’s not yet confident enough to wear a two-piece swimsuit. That said, joining a beauty contest is still a remote possibility.

Both rather look forward to doing action roles in the future. Gab loves to play the Pinoy action hero Captain Barbell, while Alexa likes playing Black Widow. If, however, another project as a love team is offered, the two welcome it.

As to the possibility of a real-life romance between them, they didn’t close their doors. “You’ll never know,” they said.

In a time when some stars — known for their work with ABS-CBN (Kapamilya) — have been transferring to other networks, both stars express their satisfaction in the way the Kapamilya network is treating them.

Gab believes being a Kapamilya is “a good choice.” Alexa “has no reason to leave.” “ABS-CBN is my home,” she said, and she is happy to serve fellow Filipinos.

“Init sa Magdamag” is shown on channels A2Z and TV5 at 9:20 p.m. Monday to Friday.
