THE Gilas Pilipinas women’s basketball team is set to face Indonesia in the ongoing 32nd Southeast Asian Games basketball tournament at the Morodok Elephant Hall 2 on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 1 p.m. (2 p.m. PH time).
The Philippines faces a tough challenge against Indonesia, which has remained undefeated in the team standings with a 3-0 record following Thursday’s action. In their recent game, Indonesia defeated Malaysia 85-57, with Kimberly Pierre Louis and Peyton Alexis Whitted leading the team with 18 and 16 points, respectively.
Last year’s silver medalist, Indonesia is expected to give the Philippines a run for its money in its bid for a three-peat. Meanwhile, Gilas was battling Singapore as of press time.
On the other hand, the Gilas Pilipinas men’s team takes a break on Friday before finishing the group stage against Singapore. (PR)
