An experienced — who perished during a jump earlier this year — intentionally plunged to her demise a mere day after the conclusion of her relationship with her partner.

On April 27, Jade Damarell, 32, from Wales, died from blunt trauma injuries after falling into a field in County Durham, northern England, officials confirmed, as per . Coroner Leslie Hamilton, during an inquest conducted on Thursday, ruled the death a suicide, the outlet conveyed.

Damarell, having completed over 500 successful jumps in her career, deliberately neglected to deploy her main parachute and disengaged her automatic activation device, a mechanism that would have deployed a reserve chute at a specific altitude and speed if a skydiver were incapacitated, The Guardian detailed. The publication also noted that her equipment was found to be in working order following her fall.

The reported that Damarell had been in an eight-month relationship with Ben Goodfellow, a 26-year-old fellow skydiver, prior to their separation.

During the inquest, Hamilton summarized a note from Goodfellow, which indicated that had “ended their relationship the night before” Damarell took her life, The Guardian stated.

“The night before Jade died, Ben terminated the relationship,” a friend informed the Daily Mail.

“He reported to work the following day, and that’s when Jade plunged to her death,” the friend further elaborated.

According to the Daily Mail, Damarell — who had completed six the day prior to her death — customarily wore a camera to film her dives, but chose not to wear one during her final jump.

Her family accepted the coroner’s determination and extended appreciation to the skydiving community for its backing, stating they were “incredibly comforted by how admired, respected and deeply loved she was,” The Guardian reported.

They recalled Damarell as “brilliant, beautiful, brave and truly extraordinary,” and further stated their desire to contribute to a “culture where is met with kindness and support,” the publication noted.
