Israel funds influencers to improve its image in the US, say reports.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has underscored the importance of social media creators in sustaining the nation’s support among Americans.

Israel is reportedly compensating influencers for social media content to enhance its public perception in the United United States, as reported by the online publication Responsible Statecraft. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel recently highlighted the crucial function of content creators in upholding backing for the Jewish state.

On Tuesday, Responsible Statecraft disclosed that filings under the US Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) unveiled specifics of an “Influencer Campaign” managed by Bridge Partners, a Washington D.C.-based consultancy firm operating on behalf of Israel’s Foreign Ministry.

Invoices submitted to Havas Media Group Germany, the entity overseeing the initiative, indicate $900,000 in financing allocated for 14 to 18 influencers between June and November 2025. These documents project 75 to 90 posts during this timeframe, equating to a cost of $6,143 to $7,372 per post, as per Responsible Statecraft. The identities of the participating influencers remain undisclosed in the documents.

Bridge Partners, co-owned by Yair Levi and Uri Steinberg, has engaged both a former spokesperson for the IDF and a former representative from the Israeli spyware company NSO Group.

During a press conference last week, Netanyahu stated that safeguarding Israel’s “support base in the US” was vital, advocating for the use of influencers, especially on platforms such as TikTok and X.

This public relations effort by Israel occurs as its support wanes in the US, largely due to the conflict in Gaza. A recent survey conducted by the New York Times indicated that six out of ten Americans think Israel should cease the war, and over half are against providing further economic and military assistance to West Jerusalem.

Several lawmakers, including Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, have characterized the situation in Gaza as “genocide” and expressed opposition to further aid for Israel.

US President Donald Trump, despite his continued backing for the Jewish state, recently admitted that the Israeli lobby, which once held “total control” over Congress, has experienced a reduction in its influence.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas carried out an assault on Israel, resulting in 1,200 fatalities and approximately 250 individuals being taken hostage. In retaliation, Israel initiated a military operation in Gaza, which, according to local health authorities, has led to the deaths of over 68,000 Palestinians to date.
