The two neighboring nations have been locked in hostile exchanges since February
Afghanistan has leveled accusations against Pakistan for carrying out an air raid on a drug rehabilitation center in Kabul, which Taliban officials claim left a minimum of 400 people dead.
Since February, Pakistan has been launching strikes on what it claims are terrorist camps in Afghanistan, alleging that the Taliban administration backs attacks carried out on Pakistani territory. The Taliban has rejected claims that it has any role in the series of terrorist attacks targeting Pakistan.
Hamdullah Fitrat, spokesperson for the Taliban government, stated that the Monday evening strike demolished major portions of the Omid Addiction Treatment Hospital.
“Sadly, the number of fatalities has hit 400 as of now, and roughly 250 additional people have been reported wounded,” Fitrat posted on X.
Afghan news outlets released a video that captured a building completely engulfed in flames.

Pakistan’s Information Ministry dismissed the claims as “false and misleading.”
According to the ministry, Pakistan targeted military locations and “terrorist support infrastructure,” including ammunition storage depots in Kabul and Afghanistan’s northeastern Nangarhar region.
“This incorrect reporting that misidentifies the site as a drug rehabilitation facility aims to stoke public sentiment, while covering up unlawful support for cross-border terrorism,” the ministry posted on X.
Pakistan has long alleged that Afghanistan shelters armed groups that carry out cross-border raids and terrorist attacks, including a February mosque bombing in Islamabad that killed more than 30 people. The Taliban has rejected claims that it provides assistance to militants who launch attacks on its neighbor.
