A report indicates that a model and former Miss Universe contestant passed away last week due to injuries sustained when an elk collided with her Porsche, penetrating the windshield.
Russian news outlets reported that Kseniya Alexandrova, aged 30, succumbed to severe brain injuries resulting from a July 5 accident in Tver Oblast, Russia, where she was traveling with her husband. She had been in a coma and hospitalized until her demise on August 12.
The collision with the elk reportedly occurred on the M-9 highway as Alexandrova and her husband were traveling back to their home from Rzhev.
Her husband, whose name was not disclosed in the report, stated that they had no opportunity to react when the animal unexpectedly leapt in front of their Porsche Panamera. He also mentioned that both he and Alexandrova were buckled up and traveling at a reduced speed when the impact occurred.
“Only a fraction of a second elapsed from the animal’s appearance to the impact. I had no time to respond,” he conveyed to the news source in a statement translated from Russian.
Alexandrova, who was occupying the passenger seat, sustained injuries when the animal violently crashed through the windshield and into the vehicle’s interior, according to her husband’s account to the outlet.
He described her condition: “She was unconscious, her skull was fractured, and everything was covered in blood. The frontal bones of her skull were broken, indicating an open cranial-brain injury.”
Her Instagram revealed that the couple had been married for only four months prior to the unusual accident. Additionally, a November 2022 social media post indicated she was a psychologist, having obtained her degree from an unspecified institution.
Alexandrova participated as Russia’s representative in the 2017 pageant and achieved second place in the Miss Russia competition earlier in the same year.
Her modeling agency, Modus Vivendis, confirmed Alexandrova’s passing in a statement issued in Russian and shared on August 13 on an unspecified platform.
The translated statement conveyed: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of our colleague and friend, model Kseniya Alexandrova, who passed away yesterday evening.”
The agency further added, “Kseniya was vibrant and gifted. She possessed the ability to inspire, support, and bring warmth to those around her. To us, she will always symbolize beauty, kindness, and inner fortitude.”
