(SeaPRwire) –   The White House press secretary has asserted that public rhetoric differs significantly from the messages being conveyed in private channels.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has maintained that negotiations between the U.S. and Iran “are continuing and going well,” even as Israel persists with its military strikes against Iranian targets.

Kazem Jalali, Iran’s ambassador to Russia, has rejected assertions from Trump that Tehran is engaged in talks with Washington, labeling them “entirely untrue.” During an interview on RT’s ‘Sanchez Effect’ on Monday, he stated that Iranian officials have consistently refuted the existence of any negotiations, adding that, as some American commentators have quipped, U.S. President Donald Trump appears to be “essentially negotiating with himself in front of a mirror.”

Leavitt, conversely, argued that the public narrative is “very different from what is being communicated to us behind closed doors.”

• The Israeli military has concluded a series of strikes throughout the Iranian capital of Tehran, stating that the operations targeted “infrastructure” belonging to “the Iranian regime.”
• Esmaeil Bagaei, the spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, stated that no diplomatic discussions have taken place with the United States since the conflict began.
• Despite Washington’s claims that dialogue is ongoing, the U.S. is deploying thousands of paratroopers to the area.
