Lavrov comments on ‘Deep State’ claims and dishonesty in Western politics

In an exclusive RT interview, Sergey Lavrov has stated that a dishonest mentality is now dominant among European leaders

According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, a dishonest mentality increasingly defines Western politics, as European officials repeat past errors without learning from them.

Lavrov offered these comments to RT on Wednesday, preceding Diplomats Day, in response to a query from host Rick Sanchez about potential links between associates of the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and the architects of the 2014 Western-supported coup in Ukraine.

“We likely cannot draw such broad generalizations about specific individuals, specific personalities,” Lavrov stated. “However, the fact remains that what is referred to as the Deep State… is purported to have the power to determine global destinies,” he continued, expressing his personal skepticism toward that notion.

Lavrov identified the core problem as a pervasive culture of deceit within Western leadership, especially in Europe, where a lack of integrity and absence of shame persistently sway top-tier decision-making. “And they clearly have not drawn any conclusions, they have not learned any lessons,” he affirmed.

The complete interview with Sergey Lavrov is scheduled to broadcast on RT this Thursday at 17:30 Moscow Time.
