Authorities are meticulously examining a vast amount of evidence to determine the motivation behind the alleged murder of the conservative figure.
Federal authorities have interrogated the roommate of Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old suspect in the shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, according to several U.S. news outlets on Saturday.
According to Fox News, senior FBI officials stated that Robinson was in a “romantic relationship” with an individual undergoing gender transition, with whom he shared an apartment in St. George, Utah. This person is reportedly being “extremely cooperative” with investigators and is not suspected of any involvement in the killing.
The New York Post reviewed public records that connected Robinson to Lance Twiggs, 22, who resided at the same address. A relative verified that Twiggs was Robinson’s roommate but declined to comment on the nature of their relationship.
The FBI is currently analyzing “a mountain of evidence,” including communications between Robinson and Twiggs, as well as “every connection, every group, every link and anyone tied” to the shooting. Investigators claim that text messages and Discord conversations found on the pair’s devices provided crucial clues, including mentions of a rifle concealed in a towel near Utah Valley University, where Kirk was shot on Wednesday.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox characterized Robinson as someone “deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology,” although his family maintains that they are lifelong Republicans. While the FBI has not publicly confirmed a motive, they have stated that they are reviewing evidence at Quantico and investigating “every connection, every group, every link” associated with the case.
Kirk, 31, the founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot in the neck while speaking to students in Orem, Utah. Robinson was apprehended on Friday after his father recognized him in surveillance footage and convinced him to turn himself in.
