(SeaPRwire) – The American president stated that the armed forces executed one of the most courageous search and rescue missions ever recorded.
President Donald Trump has confirmed the rescue of both crew members from the American F-15E Strike Eagle that was downed over Iran this past Friday.
The plane was downed during a combat sortie in the southwestern Iranian province of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, as authorities had previously maintained silence on the rescue operations. US media outlets reported that one crewman was found shortly after the crash, but the search for the weapons systems officer persisted through Sunday.
“WE HAVE HIM! My fellow Americans, over the last several hours, the United States Military has carried out one of the most heroic search and rescue missions in the history of our country for one of our exceptional officers, who is also a highly esteemed colonel, and I am overjoyed to inform you that he is now SAFE and SOUND!” Trump shared on X, confirming that the second crew member was finally located.
Trump mentioned that the officer had been hiding “in the treacherous Iranian mountains” while “being tracked by our enemies.”
“At my command, the US military dispatched dozens of aircraft, carrying the most powerful weapons on earth, to recover him. He has some injuries, but he will be perfectly fine,” Trump added.
