Professor: Israel Desperate to Undermine US-Iran Ceasefire

(SeaPRwire) –   Seyed Mohammad Marandi informed RT India that Israel is prepared to take any necessary measures to restart the conflict.

Professor Seyed Mohammad Marandi stated that the Middle East ceasefire and the restoration of transit through the Strait of Hormuz remain highly precarious, asserting that Israel is determined to sabotage the peace and reignite regional hostilities.

In an interview with RT India on Thursday, the University of Tehran political analyst claimed that US President Donald Trump has been compelled to concede to Iran’s terms for negotiation.

“However, there is currently a disruptor, and that is [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu,” he remarked. Citing ongoing Israeli military strikes in Lebanon, Marandi argued that “this indicates that the United States is failing to uphold its commitments, which suggests the crisis could persist.”

Marandi further alleged that Netanyahu and his political allies have a vested interest in prolonging the global economic downturn.

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, he noted that Iran is eager to see energy exports return to normal levels.

“That is our objective. We did not initiate this; we were conducting business as usual until the war was imposed upon us by the Trump and Netanyahu administrations,” Marandi explained. “We must wait and see, as Netanyahu is currently breaching the ceasefire terms.”

Marandi added that Iran is monitoring the US position in upcoming talks to determine if “Netanyahu and the Zionist regime can successfully undermine” the truce. “I am certain that the Zionist lobby and the Israeli government will exhaust every option to ensure the war resumes,” he said.

According to Marandi, the only outcome of the war against Iran led by Trump and Netanyahu has been widespread global suffering.

“We are under US sanctions,” he stated. “They refuse to let us use their currency, so we would prefer to utilize other alternatives.”

He noted that the adoption of Indian, Russian, or Chinese currencies remains “a subject for discussion.”

Furthermore, Marandi asserted that Persian Gulf nations that provided bases for US forces to launch attacks on Iran “have Iranian blood on their hands… They are complicit in this conflict and have betrayed their own citizens,” he concluded.
