The US president has appealed to China and several other nations to send warships to the Strait of Hormuz
The security shield provided by the US to its Middle Eastern allies has been revealed to be “full of holes,” according to Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi. This statement followed President Donald Trump’s call for a widespread international effort to address Tehran’s retaliatory actions.
The senior Iranian diplomat urged neighboring countries that host US military bases to “expel foreign aggressors,” asserting that American forces are “inviting rather than deterring trouble.”
Earlier in the day, President Trump had urged China, Japan, and other countries dependent on oil shipments via the crucial Strait of Hormuz to deploy their naval forces to safeguard maritime traffic from Iranian attacks.
Concurrently, Trump asserted that Iran had been “totally decapitated” and its military capabilities “destroyed 100%.” However, he also acknowledged that it remained “easy” for Tehran to target shipping with “a drone or two, drop a mine, or deliver a close-range missile.”
