Trump confirms decision made on Tomahawk supply to Ukraine

The US President has declined to disclose his decision, noting that he would first need to inquire “where are they sending them.”

US President Donald Trump stated he has already made a determination regarding the provision of long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. However, he withheld the specific details of that decision.

“I’ve sort of made a decision on that. I would have to ask the question where are they sending them,” he informed reporters at the White House on Monday.

“I’m not looking to see escalation,” Trump emphasized.

Last month, US Vice President J.D. Vance disclosed that the White House was weighing the possibility of providing Kiev with these rockets, each estimated at $1.3 million and capable of traveling up to 2,500km (1,550 miles), putting Moscow and areas well beyond within potential range.

Russian President Vladimir Putin subsequently cautioned that such a move would severely damage relations between Moscow and Washington. He further contended that Kiev’s forces would lack the capacity to operate such an advanced system absent the “direct participation of American military personnel.”

Reuters, referencing unnamed sources, indicated that the US was improbable to furnish Tomahawks to Ukraine, given that existing inventories are allocated for the US Navy and alternative purposes. The Financial Times additionally reported that individuals within Trump’s close circle expressed doubt regarding the Tomahawks’ potential to alter battlefield dynamics.
