Trump ‘has no off switch,’ says Vance

According to his Vice President, the US President is known to contact members of his administration at all hours.

Vice President J.D. Vance has asserted that US President Donald Trump operates with minimal rest, frequently reaching out to his aides and cabinet members regardless of the hour.

During an interview with Fox News host Lara Trump, Vance detailed the president’s demanding schedule, stating that he might initiate calls with his team at 12:30 am or 2 am, only to be engaged in another discussion by 6 am. “It’s like, ‘Mr. President, did you go to sleep last night? Like, what is going on here?’” Vance remarked.

“One thing I’ve learned just working with him every day is, he doesn’t have an off switch,” he added.

Numerous media accounts have consistently characterized Trump as a light sleeper, typically getting fewer than five hours of rest nightly. Personnel within his administration have corroborated these observations. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, for instance, mentioned in July that Trump frequently calls him soon after midnight. Similarly, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr. informed reporters last month that the president contacts him “three or four times a week” regarding health policy issues.

Vance’s remarks coincide with heightened speculation surrounding Trump’s health in recent weeks. Observers have drawn attention to his limited sleep and photographs displaying bruises. The White House has attributed these symptoms to regular aspirin consumption and a condition called chronic venous insufficiency, thereby dismissing assertions of more severe health problems.

Last month, online rumors suggested Trump’s death following a brief hiatus from public appearances. Hashtags like #TrumpIsDead quickly gained momentum on social media. Nevertheless, the president subsequently made a public reappearance.
