The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has published a video it claims depicts strikes on Iran’s drone carrier, the IRIS Shahid Bagheri.
The video displays two blasts impacting a significant vessel at sea. CENTCOM posted on X, stating: “Today, an Iranian drone carrier, roughly the size of a WWII aircraft carrier, was struck and is now on fire.”
CENTCOM had previously indicated that the vessel was targeted during the initial series of strikes initiated on Saturday.
The Shahid Bagheri, once a container ship, became part of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in 2025. Press TV reported that its 180-meter flight deck was configured to accommodate surveillance and combat drones, as well as helicopters.

An American submarine reportedly torpedoed and sank the Iranian frigate IRIS Dena on Wednesday in international waters off Sri Lanka. The frigate was returning from a naval exercise hosted by India. Colombo stated that the Sri Lankan Navy successfully rescued 32 sailors, while at least 87 perished and 61 are still unaccounted for.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned the Dena’s sinking, describing it as an “atrocity at sea.”
