US Military Bases in Europe on High Alert Over Terror Threat

According to Digital, U.S. military bases in Europe have been placed on high alert due to the possibility of a terrorist attack.

“Credible intelligence suggests an attack against U.S. interests over the next week or so,” a U.S. defense official told Fox News’ Lucas Tomlinson.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media, did not provide details about the nature of the threat but confirmed it is unrelated to the French elections.

The official stated that all U.S. military bases in Europe have been placed on high alert, but not under lockdown.

The alert level has been raised to “Force Protection Charlie,” indicating that the Pentagon has received credible intelligence suggesting a terrorist attack is being planned.

The new alert applies to all U.S. military facilities and personnel in Europe, including facilities in Germany, Italy, Romania, and Bulgaria, according to reporting from Fox News.
