13 drug rehab program graduates get assistance

AT LEAST 12 drug users from Barangay Subabasbas and one from Barangay Talima who graduated from the Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program (CBDRP) were granted livelihood cash assistance from the Lapu-Lapu City Social Welfare and Development (CSWDO).Closap executive director Garry Lao said the CSWDO granted a total of P65,000 worth of livelihood assistance to the 13 drug surrenderers who have completed and graduated from their CBDRP.Each of the graduates received P5,000.Lao said the 13 graduates from the CBRP are now undergoing an Aftercare Program by the CSWDO, which assesses the graduates to be able to avail themselves of its sustainable livelihood programs.”The program of the City Government, through the CSWDO, is a big help for them to provide additional income for their families and of course, to get rid of engaging in illegal activities,” Lao said.CSWDO-livelihood focal person Michael Espinosa said the 13 were the first batch of surrenderers who received the cash aid.
