Batch 1997 defeated previously unbeaten Batch 2003, 70-60, in Division 1 last Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023, at the Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC) Gym.
Giovanni Canceko led Batch 1997 with 17 points, while Chrissar Llegunas added 12 points. Eial Rebosura exploded for 28 points in a losing effort by Batch 2003, the youngest team in Division 1.
Meanwhile, John Velasco had another huge game as he carried Batch 2009 to its third straight win with a 84-72 victory over Batch 2011 Division 2 also last Sunday.
Velasco scored 23 points, while Hero Castro added 18. Christian Belloc scored 26 points for Batch 2011.
Batch 2016 edged out Batch 2014, 66-63, in Division 3.
Juliano Yusingco had 18 points for Batch 2016, while Keane Matias had a game high 24 markers for Batch 2014.
On the other hand, Batch 2001 outlasted former PBA star Dondon Hontiveros’ Batch 1994, 47-40, in Division 1.
Michael Paquibot led Batch 2001 with 17 points, while Ian Brigoli and Gunther Seroy had eight points apiece for Batch 1994, who missed the services of their star Hontiveros.
