Astrolabio takes on Pabila in Taduran vs. Cuarto undercard

WORLD Boxing Organization (WBO) No. 11 rated bantamweight Vincent Astrolabio takes on Jerry Pabila on Feb. 27, 2021 at the Bula Gym in General Santos City.

The 23-year-old Astrolabio is quickly turning into one of the country’s best bantamweights after overcoming a rough patch in his career from 2017 to 2018.

He has won his last three contests with wins over previously unbeaten Indonesian Patrick Liukhoto, Kevin Aseniero and Wilbert Berondo, whom he all beat by stoppage.

Pabila, on the other hand, is eager to return to his winning ways after losing his last four bouts. His latest defeat was a second round technical knockout in the hands of unbeaten Michael Casama on Feb. 29, 2020.

Astrolabio is 15-3 with 11 knockouts, while Pabila is 6-4 with four knockouts.

The main event features the title defense of International Boxing Federation (IBF) minimumweight king Pedro Taduran (14-2-1, 11 KOs) against Rene Mark Cuarto (18-2-2, 11 KOs).

In the undercard, Genisis Libranza (19-1, 11 KOs) locks horns with former world title challenger John Mark Apolinario (20-14-3, 5 KOs), and Jayar Inson (18-3, 12 KOs) slugs it out with veteran Jose Ocampo (20-13-1, 13 KOs). (EKA)
