Baconaje locks horns with veteran Mancito

SUPER featherweight prospect Arnel Baconaje faces another stiff test as he trades leathers with journeyman Eduardo Mancito in VSP’s “Relentless – Fists of Fire” boxing show on July 3, 2021 in a yet-to-determined venue in Luzon.

Baconaje is coming off a second round technical knockout win over Jay Lloyd Quidlat on May 1, 2021 in Urdaneta City. The 27-year-old Baconaje’s biggest wins are against Omega Boxing Gym prospect Tomejune Mangubat and former ALA Boy Brian Lobetania.

Mancito, on the other hand, is a very experienced fighter that has fought some of the elite in his division.

He has fought the likes of current World Boxing Council (WBC) super bantamweight king Rey Vargas, former world champion Tomas Rojas, former Olympian Satoshi Shimizu and unbeaten Thai Wiran Siththisob.

Baconaje is 12-4 with 10 knockouts, while Mancito is 18-11-2 with nine knockouts.

The show is headlined by Olympian Charly Suarez (6-0, 5 KOs) up against fellow unbeaten Ryan James Racaza (11-0, 7 KOs).

Also slated in the card is a battle of hard hitters between Bienvenido Ligas (13-1-1, 9 KOs) and Miel Fajardo (7-1-1, 6 KOs).

KJ Natuplag (8-2-2, 7 KOs) looks to end a two-fight losing streak as he takes on battle-scarred veteran Jon Jon Estrada (11-8-1, 10 KOs) also in the same event. (EKA)
