CCPO decides to conduct daily ‘Oplan Bulabog’ operations

THE Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) has decided to conduct its Oplan Bulabog operations every day starting July 19, 2021, to apprehend violators of curfew and health protocols such as non-wearing of mask in public spaces and non-observance of social distancing.

The CCPO leadership decided to do this because the city is experiencing an increase of Covid-19 cases.

The city police used to conduct Oplan Bulabog operations during weekends, but with the surging active cases, CCPO Deputy Director for Operation Wilbert Parilla said they have no choice but to go after violators every day.

Barangay Guadalupe is one of the barangays that the CCPO is monitoring.

Parilla said they deployed police officers to monitor sitios with active Covid-19 cases.

As of July 19, the Guadalupe Emergency Response Team reported that the barangay had 116 active cases in 42 sitios.

Parilla said the CCPO’s five teams of contact tracers are still intact and they are ready to help in identifying close contacts of the persons who tested positive for Covid-19.

The police official urged the public to obey the health protocols to help slow down the spread of the coronavirus. (AYB/KAL)
