CCTO to close Osmeña Blvd. for today’s procession

MOTORISTS and commuters are urged to plan their trips early if they are heading to or would pass by Osmeña Boulevard in Cebu City to avoid getting stuck in traffic on Sunday afternoon, April 24, 2022.The Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) announced it will temporary close portions of Osmeña Boulevard—from the Cebu Provincial Capitol to the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral—from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for the solemn procession that will mark the closing of the 500th Year of Christianity (500 YOC) celebration in the country.Lyntoni Alburo, CCTO head, assured that portions of the boulevard and interconnecting roads along the procession route will be opened once the procession has passed by these roads.From Osmeña Boulevard, the procession will cross Burgos St. then will cross the Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño and will end at the Cathedral.Alburo said vehicles that usually pass through Osmeña Blvd. will be rerouted to other roads.Alburo said the participants will converge at the Cebu Provincial Capitol area at around Sunday noon.She urged motorists to be patient and to plan their trips ahead to avoid getting stuck in traffic.
