Cebu flights cancelled too as air traffic issues hit 361 Manila flights

FLIGHT cancellations and diversions marked the start of the new year in the Philippines with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) citing technical issues affecting its navigational air traffic management system for the disruptions in what is typically a high season for travel.

More than 140 domestic and international flights to and from Cebu have been cancelled as well, as the technical issues, initially said to be affecting flights to and from Manila, remained unresolved late Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023.

In its 4:53 p.m. advisory, the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) announced the cancellation of 128 flights to and from Cebu involving various domestic and international destinations.

In its 7:25 p.m. advisory, the MCIAA added a further 14 domestic and international flights to the list.

It said other international flights were set to be rescheduled.

The new cancelled flights are the following:

The flights for rescheduling, with the new schedule yet to be announced, are the following:

TR 384/385 Singapore – Cebu – Singapore

At around 1:30 p.m. today, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) had

placed all flights to and from Manila on hold, citing technical issues at the CAAP’s air navigation facilities.

In its 7:30 p.m. advisory, the MIAA, which operates the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, said 345 flights to and from Manila had been cancelled, 10 diverted and six delayed. (CTL)
