‘Child courier’ to serve as link to bigtime illegal drug seller, says RID 7

ANTI-ILLEGAL drug operatives are coordinating with national government agencies on the whereabouts of a nine-year-old child who was reportedly used as a drug courier by arrested drug pusher Mark Secretaria Duaban.Duaban was arrested by operatives of the Regional Intelligence Division in Central Visayas (RID 7) in a buy-bust in Barangay Duljo Fatima in Cebu City on Wednesday night, March 16, 2022.Police recovered around 2.75 kilos of suspected shabu with a street value worth P14.1 million.Col. Glenn Mayam, RID 7 chief, told SunStar Cebu they are coordinating with the Department of Social Welfare and Development to determine where the child has gone in order to get information on how Duaban was able to secure his drug supply.Another drug seller is reportedly using the child to send illegal drugs to Duaban.“We will check kung ano ang sasabihin ng bata. Doon tayo gagawa ng hakbang na mga plano (We will check the statement of the child before making our next move),” Mayam said.During his arrest, Duaban told SunStar Cebu that he received three deliveries of suspected shabu done by the nine-year-old child on three occasions: one kilo on March 5 and March 12 and two kilos on the day of his arrest on March 16.Mayam said Duaban’s arrest would help in reducing the illegal drug supply in the market.Duaban is the cousin of the late Rowen “Yawa” Secretaria, whose drug distribution networks included Bohol and who allegedly worked in the network with the late drug lord Jeffrey “Jaguar” Diaz as mastermind.Duaban also admitted having been involved in the illegal drug activity of slain drug lord Cresostomo “Tata Negro” Llaguno.
