Covid-19 Vaccination Cebu City opens 8th vax site at mall

THE Cebu City Government has opened its eighth vaccination site at SM City Cebu on Thursday, August 26, 2021.

Dr. Jeffrey Ibones, head of Cebu City’s Health Department, said the newly opened vaccination site at SM City Cebu can serve 1,500 individuals per day.

The new vaccination site is in addition to the seven existing vaccination centers, mostly situated in establishments sponsored by the private sector.

The seven other vaccination centers are the University of Cebu campuses in Banilad and at J. Alcantara Street; at Robinsons Galleria, SM Seaside City, Ayala Center Cebu, and at the mega vaccination center at the New Normal Oasis for Adaptation and a Home (Noah) complex at the South Road Properties (SRP).

Out of the seven sites, only the mega vaccination center at the Noah Complex is run and funded by the City.

Ibones said the City plans to open four other vaccination centers which will be established in the city’s mountain barangays.

As of Thursday, August 26, around 612,369 individuals from Cebu City have registered for vaccination.

Out of the 612,369 individuals, around 244,369 have received their first dose while 158,247 have received the second dose. (PAC / JKV)
