DICT-Central Luzon to provide ‘freelancing’ trainings to cooperatives

THE Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) 7 and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) 7 have inked a partnership to provide online freelancing trainings to cooperatives in Central Visayas.

In a statement, CDA 7 and DICT 7 formally signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) that will provide DigitalJobsPH trainings to cooperatives in the region on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at the DICT Cebu Regional Office.

“The DigitalJobsPH training (DJT) is a flagship program of DICT that provides trainings for Filipino citizens who want to become online freelancers or home-based job workers, where one can earn income without having to leave the comforts of their homes, timely and relevant to the current Covid-19 situation where movements outside homes should be limited,” DICT 7 said in a social media post.

With the agreed MOA between these two agencies, DJT will be specifically brought out to members of cooperatives in Central Visayas, with initial runs in cooperatives in Dumaguete City.

“DICT commits to its mandates of realizing the national ICT agenda, with this new partnership with CDA a testament of this commitment,” the agency said.

According to the website of DigitalJobsPH, it offers technical trainings like the digital marketing and e-commerce course, search engine marketing and advertising module, virtual assistance module, graphic design, content writing, web development and social media marketing, and advertising.

The digital marketing and e-commerce course aims to develop and promote the trainee’s online freelancing profile, as well as the products and services of their partner MSMEs. It teaches strategies on how to sell and promote products online.

The search engine marketing and advertising module promotes the trainee’s online freelancing profile.

The virtual assistance module teaches trainees how to provide remote/online assistance to clients on administrative, technical, and/or creative matters to clients.

The graphic design module equips trainees on the proper use of tools to create designs for effective brand communication, the content writing module helps develop writing skills essential to content marketing, the website development module introduces trainees to the basic elements of website creation using WordPress.

The social media marketing and advertising module teaches trainees on how to properly use social media platforms as tools in creating and optimizing social campaigns to promote brand growth in the digital marketplace. (JOB)
