THE Cebu City Government will provide free bus rides for those who have difficulty getting a ride home during rush hour.Mayor Michael Rama directed Councilor Phillip Zafra to begin the free rides on Friday, June 24, 2022.In a virtual press conference Friday, Rama said the City Government has 19 green buses and two coasters that could immediately be used for the purpose, though he would also contact MyBus owner Hans Sy for other buses “so that there would be no more people stranded within the city of Cebu.”Zafra said personnel from the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office would go around the city at 4 p.m. daily to check for areas that had many commuters but few public utility vehicles to ensure that the buses would be deployed only in routes with stranded commuters.
