Guro arrives in Dubai

NORJ Guro, along with veteran Cebuano boxing trainer Brix Flores, arrived in Dubai, UAE yesterday, March 23, for her fight this weekend.Guro faces Denise Castle for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver Female atomweight title at the Habtoor Grand Hotel on March 26.For this fight, Guro has been training under the guidance of Flores at the famed Noy Pacing Flores Boxing Academy in Mandaue City. She has sparred with ex-world champion Marnelle Verano and former world title challenger Carleans Rivas.The 31-year-old Guro has won his last four contests, which includes a unanimous decision win over Umi Ishikawa to win the vacant WBC ABC Continental atomweight belt. Guro, however, hasn’t fought for almost four years.On the other hand, Castle is a two-time world title challenger and a veteran kickboxer. She challenged for the WBC Female atomweight belt but failed in both occasions.Castle was stopped by Momo Koseki in the eighth round in her first attempt in 2014. She lost by unanimous decision to current WBC Female atomweight champion Fabiana Bytyqi in her second attempt in 2018.Castle has been out of the ring for close to three years and she’s also up there in age at 50 years old.Guro is 11-7-1 with four knockouts, while Castle is 3-2 with three knockouts.
