Kahayag at Bluewater

THE holiday season is officially here as Bluewater Maribago lights up with breathtaking brilliance in Kahayag 2022, its annual tree-lighting ceremony, held on Nov. 12 in Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort.

This year, its 18-foot-tall Christmas tree is adorned with beautiful Christmas “parols” that all lit up during the ceremony.

This year’s lighting was coordinated by executive chef Stephen Del Amen, pastry chef Edgar Daclan, and resort assistant general manager Domiku Ugarte.

The event’s theme, “Kahayag,” calls on attendees to “be the light” and “illuminate hope” for those around them. The 12 Days of Christmas project has been relaunched by Bluewater Maribago, who have also announced the 2022 recipients: Maribago Elementary School, Buyong Elementary School, Hospicio de San Jose Barili, and a small community on Caohagan island.

The event also doubles as the official launch of its “Balay Pasko,” where guests can get the chance to avail themselves of custom-made and scrumptious holiday themed sweets, a perfect gift for your loved ones this season of giving.

When it comes to giving gifts, food gift baskets are always a popular option, regardless of the holiday or occasion. These can be fun surprises for your loved ones or thoughtful presents for your coworkers.

Both are excellent options. You can also get its “Malipayong Gift Basket,” which contains some of the most delicious Balay Pasko treats, such as chocoron, cashew roca, chocolate truffles, brownie cookies, palmiers, twisted cheese puff, herb breadsticks and assorted cookies.

The Balay Pasko at Bluewater Maribago is the Filipino equivalent of a gingerbread house, and it is stuffed with delicious pasalubong treats that guests can take back to their families and loved ones. In addition, there will be a display of the best holiday treats and specialties that have been prepared by the chefs at Bluewater directly from their kitchens.

The Balay Pasko is a time-honored symbol that encapsulates the essence of the Christmas spirit that is uniquely Filipino. It stands for our tradition of generosity and communal giving. Aside from that, Christmas is and always will be a time for love, thanksgiving and hope.
